The Classic Collection

The Classic Collection fountain pens, rollerball, propelling pencils and ball pens by Graf von Faber-Castell are designed as matching sets and are available in several variants.

The fountain pen is equipped with a practical cartridge/converter system and a hand-made bicoloured 18-carat gold nib with iridium tip.

The rollerball pen has a precision point which glides smoothly over the paper.

The propelling pencil uses break-resistant 0.7mm leads of hardness B with an integral reservoir to hold spare leads. Under the removable cap is a replaceable white eraser.

The ball-point pen is equipped with a large capacity refill.

All four writing instruments are available in reddish-brown Pernambuco wood, matt black ebony, dark brown grenadilla wood, and finally in a platinum-plated version. All three precious woods are extremely hard and durable (and correspondingly difficult to work). Natural variations in the grain and colouring mean that every writing implement made from them is unique.

The platinized fountain pen, rollerball, propelling pencil and ball pen are available with a Wooden gift box purely platinized surface or a combination of platinized and wood. Platinum is even more valuable than gold; it has a very hard and durable surface that does not oxidize. Last but not least, there is also a solid Sterling Silver version.

Writing instruments in this range come with a matt-finish wooden gift box, which includes a draw-string fabric pouch, a small information booklet and an integral tray insert which has room for up to three implements.

The solid sterling silver (925/1000) range represents the highlight of the Graf von Faber-Castell collection and includes a space for engraving a name and a double-milled edge to the cap. The instruments are also reassuringly heavy compared to others in the range. Each is numbered and hallmarked on the cap.
