We actively avoid stocking or supporting products that contain animal products including leather, fur, wool and ivory. For instance, we do not stock Graf von Faber-Castell’s Pen of the Year 2005 because it has a barrel featuring stingray leather. We believe the stingray leather belongs to the live stingray, not on a pen, however attractive it may look.
Our only exception is the use of materials which may contain material from long-extinct creatures, for example, amber (which sometimes contains fossilized insects). However, we avoid stocking products containing Mammoth ivory (another of Graf von Faber-Castell's pens had a barrel featuring that) in case it is mislabelled Elephant ivory — extremely unlikely we know, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
If you think we have missed anything and happen to notice any product on our site which does not adhere to the above guidelines, please do let us know and we will quickly remove it from sale. Thank you.
